Riding Mountain - The Gigantic Electoral District in Central Manitoba

Riding Mountain / Mont-Riding Federal Electoral District is vast.  Over 100,000 square kms and over 90,000 voters.  One City.  Four Large Town Jurisdictions, 16 Municipalities, many with multiple towns inside their boundaries, no less than 10 First Nations - Anishanbe, Cree, Dakota.  Numerous historic Métis communities.  Many Hutterite colonies.  All comprising our voters.

Barrows to Treherne.  Binscarth to Ashern.  Manitobans might be able to visualize the scale of our Riding, but many simply cannot.  We cross Lake Winnipegosis into the interlake.  We include not only Riding Mountain (which includes Riding Mountain National Park) but also Duck Mountain and the eastern flank of the Porcupine forest, which all send rushing rivers into the big waters below the Manitoba Escarpment.  We find voters in uplands and flatlands.  Farms and cities. Reserve land and communal land.

The Riding Mountain EDA (formerly Swan River/Dauphin/Neepawa Riding) is the group of voters who intend to bring our vast population together to understand what the NDP is offering to citizens.  Farmers are a big part of our population, especially land-wise, but we have a very diverse group of voters and we want all voters to know that there is a choice in Riding Mountain (Barrows to Treherne).

For now, here is the map.  It is definitely jaw-dropping. We will keep voters informed through regular posts here.  This small blog is sharable through email and social media links.  Our aim is to inform Riding Mountain voters that there is a choice.  We have time.
